Motorola made official yesterday (for everyone outside of the Americas) the U9… essentially the sequel to the PEBL. It takes the RAZR2’s shiny and touchy factors and incorporates them into a slimmer PEBL-like form. The U9 features a 2 megapixel camera, a larger mirrored external display with touch controls, Bluetooth, and a more media-centered outlook with Windows Media Player 11 sync support. It’s a quadband GSM/EDGE device though, which is why I think it’s doomed to fail since it’s being released in areas already used to the speed of a 3G network.
